From the New York Times bestselling author, K. Bromberg, comes a new standalone in her Everyday Heroes world that proves true love will always stand the test of time.

“I hate you. I never want to see you again.”

Grant Malone is not the reason I moved back to Sunnyville—at least that’s what I tell myself. Yet, those parting words I said to him back in third grade, ring in my ears every time a townsperson brings up one of the Malone boys. I thought time had healed my wounds. I was wrong. Nothing could have prepared me for how I felt when I finally saw him again.

Twenty years does a lot to turn a boy into a man. One who hits all my buttons—sexy, funny, attractive, and a police officer. But Grant is off limits because he knows too much about my past.

But I’m drawn to him. That damn uniform of his doesn’t hurt either. It’ll be my downfall. I know it.

What’s one night of sex going to hurt . . . right

I’ve always loved Emmy Reeves.

That’s why I’m shocked to see her all these years later. The shy girl I once knew is all grown up.

Adventurous and full of life, she owns my heart now, just as much as she did back then. Convincing her of that is a whole different story.

I’ll give her the one night she asks for—like that’s a hardship—but when it comes to letting her walk away after, she has another thing coming. There’s no way in hell I’m letting her go this time without a fight.

  • Cuffed is a must read!

This book was one I had to force myself to put down and go to bed! I usually read in the evenings to wind down, but this one had me hooked, it made it impossible to want to go to sleep. It carries you through so many emotions, and does so in a way it doesn’t give you whiplash. I cried, I laughed, I “awwwed”..... I gave it 5stars! Would’ve given it more if it were an option!
  • Loved it!

  • Wow so intense

First of all Kristy Bromberg you’re a beautiful genius as always. Loved the Aces reference. This story tore me in half. I had gut feeling it was real in some way but I also know fiction is based on exaggerated and/or altered reality. I know what Emmy went through was horrible but I suspected something much much worse like her daddy actually rapping her but I guess either way it’s horrible and with a gun. He’s just a coward. Emmy telling Grant he had a hero complex kind of irked me. I do have a question: are Gray and Grady twins? They seem to act like it, or is it because they’re really close in age that they seem so alike?

  • Fall in love with Grant & Emme

    By Melbel721
I finally finished this book yesterday morning, and what I thought was going to be a fun lighthearted story, was anything but that! Don't get me wrong there are sweet and charming pieces in this wonderful story. I'll never be able to walk into CVS now without cracking up!! I could say this is another second chance love story, which I love, but it is so much more than that!!! It's a story about two young 8 years olds, best friends whose bond is shattered at a young age, but eventually twenty years later find their paths crossing again. Grant Malone is the ultimate sexy hero, the cop trying to serve and protect, even away from the job. Emmy Reeves was his best friend, the girl he knew he loved even at 8 years old. Grant's thrown for a loop when he realizes she's back after 20 years of being gone!!! God I loved Emmy!!! She's tuff as nails on the outside, but deep inside her tortured soul she's been hiding a terrible secret from her childhood. She trusted Grant with her secret when they we're young, even did the pinky swear, but Grant broke that promise and it changed their young lives forever. Grant wants to rekindle their friendship, and he is relentless in the pursuit of that, but Emmy has never forgiven Grant and wants nothing to do with him. Emmy has lived a nomadic life style with her mother, before she passed away, and now that she's back and working as flight instructor, she likes her life uncomplicated and she knows letting Grant back int her life would change everything. But Grant will not be denied, he knows he hurt her in the past, and he wants nothing more than to make up for that. Emmy finally decides she'll give Grant one night to be together, and then their finished. But my swoony hero has other ideas!!! We get to see such grant banter, back and forth between these two!! Grant pushing to be with her, and Emmy constantly pulling away. All the while this runaway train from Emmy's past, is screeching down the tracks, ready to derail at any moment, threatening to destroy the trust that they are beginning to build between them. K Bromberg has never been afraid to tackle tuff issues with her stories, and she does it again with Cuffed. She gives us just enough pieces of Emmy's past to see what a horrible childhood she endured, witnessing it thru Bromberg's eyes and emotional words. I felt my heart breaking at every memory, I wanted to jump into my ipad and hug Emmy. You will fall in love with Grant and Emmy, their story is at times, funny and charming and packs a powerful emotional punch. The secondary characters are always an integral part of the story. I absolutely loved Desi, this BFF of Emmy's pulls no punches and loves her bff dearly!! I can't wait to get my hands on the other two Malone boys, Grayson and Grady. I loved seeing the comradery between the three brothers, and Grant's parents especially his dad had some emotionally charged scenes which I loved. Lastly the scenes with Grant and Keely, show you why Grant Malone is no ordinary man, he's truly an every day hero!!!
